Percussion Drilling Rigs
Suitable for ground investigation, sampling and shallow drilling, we operate versatile percussion rigs.
STANDARD LIGHT CABLE PERCUSSION RIG
Suitable for ground investigation and shallow well drilling with 150mm to 400mm diameter boring tools and casing, with a full range of sampling and in-situ testing equipment.
MAN PORTABLE COMPETITOR DART PERCUSSION RIG
Suitable for ground investigation works within sensitive areas, or where access is restricted. It is well suited to projects requiring minimal disturbance with relative ease of access.
Rotary Drilling Rigs
Holequest have an ongoing programme of investment in a modern fleet of rotary drilling rigs to enhance our capability and meet client’s requirements in the fields of ground investigation, environmental well installations, groundwater well drilling / installation, piling, and anchoring.
COMACCHIO GEO205
Top drive hydraulic rotary rig mounted on variable width rubber tracks. Four-speed rotary drill head and double hydraulic roughneck for casing up to 200mm diameter. 10 ton casing extractor, and is fitted with a hydraulic hammer for thin and thick wall undisturbed sampling and windowless sampling.
A 1 ton winch allows standard penetration tests to be undertaken. The mast dump facility allows for inclined drilling. This rig can accomplish traditional rotary core drilling, Geobore-S, cased open hole and down-the-hole hammer drilling for ground investigation, mini piling, and rock anchors.
MASSENZA MI3
Top drive hydraulic rotary rig mounted on rubber tracks. This rig has a four speed rotary drill head and double hydraulic roughneck for casing up to 240mm diameter. It has a 10 ton casing extractor and is fitted with a hydraulic hammer for thin and thick wall undisturbed sampling and windowless sampling.

This rig can undertake undisturbed sampling, standard penetration tests, traditional rotary core drilling, Geobore-S, cased open hole and down the hole hammer drilling for ground investigation, well drilling, mini piling, and rock anchors.
MASSENZA MI6
Top drive hydraulic rotary rig mounted on steel tracks with rubber inserts. The rig is fitted with a 4.5m stroke mast. It comes complete with a 2.2 ton winch and double hydraulic roughneck for casing up to 360mm diameter. It has a 12 ton hydraulic casing extractor and water and foam pump.
This rig can undertake undisturbed sampling, standard penetration tests, traditional rotary core drilling, Geobore-S, cased open hole and down the hole hammer drilling for ground investigation, well drilling, mini piling, rock anchors.
MASSENZA MI8
Top drive hydraulic rotary rig mounted on steel tracks with rubber inserts. The rig is fitted with a 6.0m stroke mast. It comes complete with a 3 ton winch and double hydraulic roughneck for casing up to 360mm diameter. It has a 15 ton hydraulic casing extractor and water and foam pump.
This rig can undertake undisturbed sampling, standard penetration tests, traditional rotary core drilling, Geobore-S, cased open hole and down the hole hammer drilling for ground investigation, well drilling, mini piling, rock anchors.
Cantilever Access Platform Drilling
Over many years we have developed a robust, fully certified temporary works access platform that allows access to drill boreholes adjacent to quays without the need for expensive over water plant such as floating or jack-up barges.
Our bespoke cantilever access platform comes with full temporary works calculations and is suited to our small and medium drilling plant to allow drilling up to 2.2m from the quayside. The system is sectional and can be readily transported by road without any special road orders. It can be readily assembled on site utilising our own delivery lorries making this a very cost-effective solution for overwater project with a requirement for near quay drilling.
Borehole Camera
Holequest offers borehole camera surveys utilising our Laval R-Cam Borehole / Well Camera which can operate up to a depth of 300m below ground level.
The camera offers forward looking ‘fish eye’ and side rotating camera views and is ideally suited to borehole well lining surveys, geotechnical borehole surveys and general void assessment / viewing scenarios.
