Well Drilling, Installation & Associated Services

Holequest are experts in the construction of borehole wells and the supply and installation of pumps and control systems, and the installation of the appropriate water main to end user points. We provide supplies for individual domestic properties, off-grid living, farms, caravan sites, industry and local authorities for public supply purposes, and more.

Our fleet of modern tracked drilling rigs have the capability to drill boreholes up to 250m in depth, and up to 400mm diameter utilising air, water or mud flush systems.

Through our trusted supply chain partners we offer WRAS approved sectional well lining systems in various diameters and designs in uPVC and stainless steel designed to suit the ground conditions and yield characteristics of the well.

Testing & Monitoring

We offer a wide range of yield / drawdown testing of wells from simple gauging tests through to full SEPA complex licence testing, monitoring and associated reporting utilising the wide range of test pumping equipment held in stock with discharge rates from 1m3/hr up to 100m3/hr supported by barometrically compensated automatic water level logging systems.

A full water testing service is also offered from simple field water quality monitoring to microbiology, extended microbiology, water chemistry and more, tailored to the client’s end use.

Ground Water Investigation

We provide a full range of ground water investigation services including location, quality, quantity and continuity assessment.  Private water supply assessment.

These services are backed by experienced engineering staff to ensure results are accurate and concise.

Permits, Regulations & Licensing

Regulations surrounding borehole wells can potentially be complex depending on the proposed abstraction. Our experienced team will provide the appropriate advice and offer a full application management service.

If you are considering a new supply, read our guide “From Source to Supply“, explaining the various steps involved and  how Holequest can help you.

Pumping, Control & Treatment

Our team have a great depth of knowledge in water treatment design and installation and are regularly involved in water supply projects from small domestic properties through to larger farming developments, industrial supplies and commercial projects.

We offer the design, supply and installation of systems for:

  • Borehole pumps
  • Pressure control for borehole pumps
  • Pressure boosting for traditional ‘spring’ supplies
  • Particulate filtration
  • UV sterilisation
  • Chlorine dosing sterilisation
  • Turbidity reduction
  • Iron reduction
  • Manganese reduction
  • Arsenic reduction
  • Water softening
  • pH correction
  • Reverse osmosis
  • Dual source supplies
  • High volume supplies

This list isn’t exhaustive. If you have another water supply quality issue, speak to one of the team and we will develop a proposal.

Our installation works come with the back-up of a full post-installation support service including annual servicing and maintenance support.

We also provide servicing, maintenance and call out support for general water-pumping and treatment systems not related to our own installation works.

Renewable Energy Pump System

In a recent advance, Holequest now supply and install the Grundfos SQFlex system, a renewable powered borehole pump system, which has proven itself to be more than able.

These pumps have the head / flow capabilities of the versatile Grundfos SQ range but with benefit of being driven by solar power or wind power or both, with the added feature of a battery storage system. See here for a Grundfos case study.

We install Geothermal Heating Systems

Holequest provide drilling services, working in conjunction with approved geothermal heating suppliers to provide ecological heating systems which harness the ground’s natural heat through a series of linked boreholes.

Maintenance & Repair Services Existing supply services

Maintenance & Repair

Holequest provide maintenance and repair services for boreholes, regardless of whether or not they were installed by us.

We may also be able to upgrade your supply by adding pumping systems and/or renewable energy sources and resolve quality issues through the addition of UV sterilisation, water softening, heavy metal reduction, or other techniques.

Friendly, experienced and efficient, our team are well equipped to keep your water supply flowing.

Surveys & Viewing

We offer detailed camera surveys of existing boreholes to review the condition of the well lining up to a maximum depth of 300m. Camera surveys are most often utilised to develop well rehabilitation strategies for conditions such as iron fouling, lining damage and debris removal.

Holequest offers borehole camera surveys utilising our Laval R-Cam borehole / well camera. The camera offers forward looking ‘fish eye’ and side rotating camera views and is ideally suited to borehole well lining surveys.
